1. What
is the most common time for something to happen and cause
Cerebral Palsy?
- Before birth
2. Are
seizures common in children with Cerebral Palsy?
- Yes, about ½ of all Cerebral Palsy children will experience
them.
3. Is there
a test that my child can have to determine if he has Cerebral
Palsy?
- No single test or X-ray can detect this condition. A
physician will test the strength of various muscles, assess
the range of motion of different joints, and compare the
child's physical and intellectual development with normal
childhood milestones before a determination is made.
4. Can my
child be cured of Cerebral Palsy?
- A cure is not available. Physicians can not repair the
brain injury, but there are several treatment options
available to control and improve symptoms.
5. Can I
contact my personal injury attorney to see if I am entitled to
compensation?
- Possibly. An attorney should have expertise in
medical malpractice and specifically in Cerebral Palsy to best
